Koeye Sentinel is an immersive path designed to connect users with the spirit and history of the Koeye River through the application of traditional Heiltsuk Nation salmon fishing weirs. As Sockeye salmon face the looming threat of extinction, each step across the bridge stands as a permanent reminder to protect the ancestral traditions of the Heiltsuk community and advocate for their governance over their practices and the water.
