Qualifications
IP Red seal journeyman welder with BC level ’’A” or out of province equivalent.Minimum five years at journeyman level.Must have pressure welding experiences and hold current pressure qualifications.Strong welding skills in various processes gained in heavy industry.Supervisory experience.Welding inspection certification is an asset.Strong interpersonal skills.Demonstrate or be willing to advance knowledge and skills necessary to instruct curriculum.Demonstrate or be willing to train for computer skills that are necessary to instruct curriculum.Provincial Instructors Diploma or willingness to complete would be an asset.
Duties/ Responsibilities
Responsibilities within the Welding Department include instruction of apprentice & entry level to upgrading of journeymen on multi-process procedures. Preparing lesson plans, classroom lectures, practical demonstrations, care and maintenance of equipment and working collectively with the Department Head.A desire to share your knowledge, enjoy teamwork, a willingness of commitment to teaching excellence and preparation of outstanding graduates is foremost.
