Canam Celebrates 60 Years

May 5^th marked the 60^th Anniversary of Canam’ operations. On May 5, 1961, exactly 60 years ago, the first Canam joist was fabricated at the St. Gédéon-de-Beauce plant.

Canam celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2020. On August 15, 1960, Roger Dutil, Gilberte Lacroix-Dutil and two Boston partners incorporated Canam’s first entity in equal parts. For 60 years, the company has been proud to be part of the Beauce community and its economic development. With employees from around the world, Canam has participated in the construction of more than 350,000 buildings in North America and elsewhere.

Canam Group specializes in designing and fabricating metal components for the North American construction industry. The Company is active in the sectors of building construction, structural steel construction and bridge construction. Canam Group operates eight plants in Canada and the United States, as well as engineering offices in Canada, Romania and India and has over 2,675 employees.
